  1. Voice is truly free no charge towards voice or the data used to make 4G voice calls.
  2. Prepaid tariffs are inclusive of all applicable taxes. Applicable taxes will be extra for all Postpaid tariffs plans.
  3. All customers will have the option to opt for Jio Prime membership upon subscription to any available Prepaid or Postpaid plan and payment of Rs. 99.
  4. For prepaid subscribers one month denotes 28 days and for Postpaid subscribers it denotes one bill cycle.
  5. The subscriber must have an active prepaid/Postpaid Plan to avail the additional benefits offered under Jio Prime.
  6. All Postpaid subscribers opting for Jio Prime are also required to opt for e-bill and autopay options.
  7. This Plan is intended only for personal use of included services. RJIL reserves the right to discontinue the free Voice benefits offered as part of this Plan in case of misuse/ fraudulent use/ unauthorised telemarketing and commercial use.
  8. The voice benefits under the Plan voucher cannot be used for outgoing calls to premium numbers, IN numbers and other chargeable short codes; the subscriber will be charged applicable tariffs for the same.
  9. Voice and/or SMS benefits are not included in all plans/ISD Plans/IR packs on offer. Please check your plan benefits before opting.
  10. Unlimited SMS referred in the plan benefits will be capped at 100 free SMS per day in compliance with TRAI Regulations.
  11. The prepaid recharge once processed, can neither be refunded for cash nor be transferred to any other account.
  12. Talktime mentioned in the Top-up voucher refers to monetary value which can be used for availing chargeable services, while the subscriber is on an active plan.
  13. Unutilized free benefits will be forfeited at the end of validity.
  14. RJIL reserves the right to restrict number of devices that may be connected to the user device when used as a personal hotspot and such restriction whenever applied will be communicated from time to time. At present, there is no restriction on number of devices that may be connected to the user device when used as a personal hotspot (also known as tethering).
  15. The data used by the consumers for Jio applications, Video calls and other content available on internet would be uniformly debited against plan data allocation.
  16. The above 4G plans can only be availed by customers possessing an LTE compatible device.

Jio IUC Plans Recharge Price, Data, IUC Minutes: Reliance Jio announced that the voice calls will be charged from now onwards. The voice calls made to other networks will be charged 6 paise per minute. Jio has provided the free calls as of now for the subscribers for all networks. While the Jio has revised its call charges on 11th October. Jio is now charging 6 Paise/Minute IUC (Interconnect Usage Charge) that the company pays other telcos to use their network during calls. Under the new guidelines, a Jio subscriber calling somebody using an alternate service like Airtel or Vodafone-Idea will be charged 6 paise every minute till the time you keep ringing. The 6 paise every minute charge will be made through IUC top-up vouchers.

Jio says that it has been hit by the price differential of free voice calls on the Jio network and a high tariff on 2G networks on Airtel and Vodafone-Idea. Jio says it gets 25-30 crore missed calls daily by 2G clients, which results in 65-75 crore minutes of outgoing traffic as opposed to incoming traffic. TRAI cut down IUC charge from 14 paise to 6 paise every minute with an aim to scrap the charge from January 1, 2020. Because of the high tariff on 2G networks, Jio is presently the net payer of IUC while Airtel and Vodafone Idea are net income gainers, as per the reports.

 “So far, in the last three years Jio has paid nearly Rs 13,500 crore as net IUC charges to the other operators,” Jio said in the statement.

TRAI recently chose to look for perspectives on deferring zero IUC charge as there are as yet a huge number of 2G supporters who have not moved to VoLTE, so it appears to be impossible that the zero-IUC guideline will become effective at any point in the near future. Analysts state that Jio’s move will profit rivals Airtel and Vodafone-Idea, which has been draining financially for as far back as a couple of years because of the ultra-low tariff plans offered by Jio. Presently, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea may use this chance to hike voice call rates. The IUC Rates will be applied from TRAI moves to zero termination charge, which is supposed to happen from 31st December 2019.
